Komianou Aria

The engraver Aria Komianou belongs to the generation that engraving in Greece opens in new aesthetic directions. He was born in 1938 in Athens. She spent her childhood in Corfu, the island of her origin. From 1958 to 1960 he studied in the art workshop of Panos Sarafianos. He studied engraving at the Athens School of Fine Arts (1960-1969), and graduated with honors in Woodcut, Lithography, Copperplate. He also received a diploma in Theoretical and Historical Studies as well as Book Art and Typography.

Her teacher was the engraver Costas Grammatopoulos. Her first solo exhibition was in 1966 at the Astor Gallery. Since then she has presented her work in thematic solo exhibitions in Greece and abroad, but also participating in many international exhibitions and important tributes to the art of engraving. He taught engraving and graphic arts in public and private education.

He was an active member of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece, whose mark was engraved, a founding member of the Greek Engravers Association, a member of the Art Addiction group of Sweden, the Association of Greek Artists, the Kiwa-Kyoto Engravers group of Japan. She has been distinguished and awarded several times in international presentations, while her works are in galleries and museums in Greece and other countries.
