Varlamos Giorgos

He was born in Paros in 1922. He studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts under the tutelage of Giannis Kefallinos, and later, in the 1950s, he won a scholarship for the School of fine Arts in Paris, and studied at the Technical College of Estienne. He specialized in book technique and stamp design. He studied and worked with all kinds of engraving. In addition to engraving, however, he illustrated more than 200 books, as well as various posters of social content. He participated in international exhibitions, having won awards in many of them, while in 1995 he was honored with an award from the Academy of Athens. He died on September 13, 2013.
