Tsepas Ilias

Born and raised in Athens, Ilias Tsepas Studied Photography in mid 90's and worked freelance for several greek publications as a commercial photographer.In 2000 moved to England and continued his studies in London's Westminster University on Film,Video and Digital Imaging.
After 10 years in London as part of Rankin's Photography Team and freelancing at the same time in Paris and Berlin, Ilias Tsepas is back in Athens working freelance and running a Studio in the heart of the city.He is currently working on an open call, online art magazine-platform and
about to go through the educational system once again at the Fine Arts University of Athens.

“Throughout my life I have worked on various personal projects on the side of my commercial work.The last coupla years I’ve come to realise that I need to share these projects, overcome my hesitance and expose the more vulnerable side of the explorer/researcher/creator that I am. I do photography and video mainly and I also experiment with sound and animation but I often need to interpret and elaborate on the work using more that one formats/disciplines. As the idea develops it often calls for me to build things, make things, using all sorts of different materials.
The work ends up demanding more of an installation format:  a constructed multi-sensory experience emerges”
