Mytaras Dimtiris

He was born in Chalkida in June 1934. He studied painting at the School of Fine Arts (1953-1958) with professors Giannis Moralis and Spyros Papaloukas. He continued his studies in scenography at the "École Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs" as well as interior decoration at the "Métiers d'Art" in Paris (1960-1964) with a scholarship from the SSF.

In 1975 he was appointed professor at ASFA. His works have been exhibited in Athens, in personal exhibitions at the galleries "Zygos", "Astor", "Merlin", Art Gallery (Thessaloniki), as well as in Bologna, Florence, Rome, Genoa, etc ... In March 2008 was elected a full member of the Academy of Athens. The Academy deleted him from its yearbook because he became blind due to an illness.

He died on February 16, 2017, at the age of 82. He had been facing serious health problems lately.
