Fassianos Alekos

He was born near Plaka in Athens. He studied violin at the Athens Conservatory and painting at the School of Fine Arts during the period 1956-1960 in the workshop of Giannis Moralis. He studied history of Greek angiography and Byzantine iconography. He attended lithography classes at the École des beaux-arts in Paris, with a scholarship from the French government (1962-1964), in the workshops of Clairin and Dayez. In 1966 he moved to Paris, and since 1974 he lives and works in Paris and Athens. Since 1959, the year of his first personal exhibition in Athens, he has been prenenting his work in personal exhibitions in Athens, Thessaloniki, Paris, Munich, Tokyo, Hamburg, Zurich, Milan, Beirut, Stockholm, London and elsewhere. He has repeatedly participated in group exhibitions and well-known events around the world. Fasianos has also  worked on engraving, poster design, as well as scenography, mainly collaborating with the National Theater
